Professional Objective: A Position in Technical Communications
Strengths
- Familiarity with a wide variety of computers and applications software, including engineering design automation and business applications software
- Good working knowledge of electronics, data communications, and computer programming languages
- Excellence in verbal, written, and on-line communications, with diverse experience in conference papers,
newsletters, technical manuals, presentation materials, specifications, and Web pages
- Strong attention to detail, and a passion for accuracy
- A knack for innovative solutions, and a history of implementing them in the most effective way
Achievements
- At Lockheed, acted as an informal "computer guru", performing software installation and maintenance,
virus prevention, and user training for several departments. This improved the productivity of co-workers who
were not yet familiar with the computers in use there.
- Developed an operator's manual for a test system at Lockheed. This manual eased the process of learning to
use the complex equipment.
- Using Generalized Query Language under VM/CMS on an IBM mainframe, developed report-generator software for
component test-failure databases. Produced reports that documented the errors present. Recommended actions needed
before the databases could be used for failure trend analysis.
- Researched and wrote the power supply chapter of a manual for a complex electronic system. This manual was
for a Lockheed customer.
- Co-wrote a paper for presentation at the 1989 IECEC conference.
- Originated a variety of consumer software that required skill in text processing and user-interface design.
- Developed computer bulletin-board software and ran a BBS using it for seven years.
- Designed hardware modules for amateur radio applications and wrote technical articles concerning them for magazines serving that field.

| My Philosophy |
| I believe in the importance of sharing information, and I try to make the information I put forth as accurate as possible. In design, I prefer what is simple and solid and does the job over fancy bells and whistles and bleeding-edge technology. |
