Would You Wear These Socks?

Yesterday I received another mailing from the Democratic National Committee. They're begging for contributions yet again. I don't object to their begging for contributions — obviously they need money (and I've already contributed a reasonable amount.)

But I do object to inept requests for contributions. Consider the offer of socks that was pictured on the back of the envelope:

Yes, it's a small thing in the context of the current campaign. But I wouldn't buy these ugly socks, and I hope no one else would either. The DNC would be well advised to spend its funds more wisely.
