Profile of Erika Jordan

Erika Jordan is hard to categorize. A former model and actress, she has 150 movie and television roles listed on the IMDB — most in borderline pornographic features1 that rarely get rated above 5.0. You can judge them for yourself. Start with Criminal Desires (link to IMDB entry), a 2013 film with a rating of 5.3. Some would say that having had a career in the adult film industry disqualifies someone from any form of respectable work. I do not subscribe to that belief. What's more, history shows that starting a career in adult films does not preclude a transition to serious films; two people who have made the jump are Sylvester Stallone and Cameron Diaz. Nor does it preclude a transition to a totally different career. Brian May was lead guitarist for the rock group Queen and also an astrophysicist. Former adult film actress Tericka Dye left the industry, served in the US Army, went to college on the GI Bill and became a high school science teacher in Kentucky.

Erika Jordan also worked as a relationship coach, and the Web site for that is still active. Evidently she decided that American society must be treated en masse rather than individually. she earned her Master's in sociology and is working on a doctorate. I found this assessment of Trump by her quoted on Daily Kos.

"The appeal of a man who failed upward his entire life should be studied in labs. No charisma, just loud repetitive whining, no charm, just smug, greasy used car salesman energy. No intelligence, just word salad and incoherent ranting. No strength, just petty insecure crying about late night TV levels of weakness, and yet millions don't just support him they worship him. Why? Because he gives them permission to be their worst selves. The ignorant love him because he makes stupidity feel like patriotism. Racists love him because he makes bigotry socially acceptable again. Misogynists love him because he treats women like trash and gets away with it. Weak men love him because he lets them cosplay as alpha males without doing anything remotely strong. It's not about policy, intelligence or leadership. It's about validation. He makes people feel good about their worst instincts. If you see him for what he is it's maddening. Watching people fall all over themselves for this man is like watching an entire nation lose its mind in real time. You're not crazy, you're not alone. It's not that you're missing something. It's that they've lost something - basic reality."

To me, that's an accurate assessment of the current occupant of the Oval Office. I've watched five of her YouTube videos, and I find what she says sensible. I'm concerned about the coquettish way she sometimes presents herself, but not enough to dismiss the content she presents; that to me seems on target, although the short format doesn't provide much depth. She's also active on social media like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. She will either succeed or fail depending on whether she continues to present commentary that hits the mark.
