A camera at the German School (Deutsche Schule) in Shanghai looks across the Huangpu River toward Pudong, the city's new financial center. The picture is not great, but this Webcam is noteworthy simply because it is in mainland China. Also worth a look is the German School's home page.

Still, this is a publicity shot, not a live camera view. For live views, the site wants you to install a special ActiveX control from Axis Communications AB. You do so at your own risk.

Awesome view of the Shinagawa ward in Tokyo, with street traffic and the Yamanoto Line urban railway. Updates in near real time at a variable rate, usually once per second. The Fortuna Lodge provides five other links to Tokyo webcams, but they all require an Active-X viewer.

Mount Ararat does indeed lie in the background of this image. But the most interesting thing shown may be the city in the foreground. The city is Yerevan, capital of Armenia, and the building at left is the Church of St. Grigor Lusavorich. The update interval is unknown.Also, this page is now a commercial for a telecommunications provider.
